JCE is marking more than four decades of progress, reflecting on a journey that began in 1979 and continues to evolve today. Founded in Aberdeen as J.C. Engineering Limited, the company established its first factory on York Place, laying the groundwork for what would become a global organisation.
In 1984, operations relocated to Altens Farm Road, followed by further expansion into Dyce in 1988 and a rebrand to J.C.E. (Aberdeen) Limited. That same year, JCE strengthened its UK manufacturing process with the acquisition of Crouse Hinds Europe in Plymouth, forming JCE (Europe) Ltd.
The company’s international growth accelerated in 1992 with the establishment of JCE Asia Pacific in Singapore. By 1998, the business rebranded to JCE Group (UK) Ltd to reflect its expanding global presence.
A major milestone followed in 1999 with the move to JCE House in Blackburn, Aberdeen, a purpose-built global headquarters that continues to support the company’s operations.
Innovation has remained central to JCE’s journey. In 2000, the company launched the world’s first Ex Solar Power Pod, followed by the formation of
JCE Group USA in 2001 to support North American expansion.
JCE continued to evolve its capabilities with the creation of JCE Energy Ltd in 2009, marking its entry into renewable and off-grid energy solutions.
This was further advanced in 2017 with the development of hybrid and solar power systems for remote and offshore applications.
In 2019, JCE España was established to strengthen European operations, and in 2025, the organisation unified JCE Group, JCE Energy and JCE (Europe) under a single brand: JCE.
From its beginnings in Aberdeen to its position today as a global provider of engineered solutions, JCE’s timeline reflects a consistent focus on growth, innovation, and adaptability.
