Recycling at Jarabosky was the norm before it became fashionable; for more than 20 years we have been transforming redundant hardwood railway sleepers from around the world into stunning furniture. By using hardwood sleepers we gain access to well seasoned, good quality sections of timber, not readily available today, that has been weathering slowly for the last 60-70 years. The process of converting those sleepers into usable timber is a painstaking and costly process in time and labour but the end product justifies the effort. Chair construction is time consuming and needs meticulous care when assembling if it is to last the life of the table.The height of all our seating is 18 (460mm) to seat-top height which we have found to be the optimum height for our table heights all being 30 (760mm) high. Any of our chairs can be upholstered over the wooden seats with either leather of fabric or choice or can be adapted to accept the knock out upholstered seats. Customers own fabric can be used if preferred. Whichever method is chosen the cost including material is usually £55 per chair.
