Dew Point Measurement Instrument for High Precision Measurements

The MBW 373 is a high precision chilled mirror device to measure the dew point, or frost point, of a gas. The temperature of a polished mirror is closely controlled so that a layer of condensation (dew or frost) is maintained at a constant thickness. The mirror is illuminated, and a light-sensitive detector determines the thickness of condensation on the mirror surface. Automatic control of the mirror temperature, using thermo-electric coolers (or a peltiers device), cools the mirror to a temperature at which condensation occurs. The instrument achieves quick response with low level measurements using ORIS, a unique facility to improve response time without affecting accuracy or stability.
