UPGRADE OF THE ENSCO 72 DRILLING UNIT MUD SYSTEM

Houlder has been contracted to upgrade the mud system on the Ensco 72 Self Elevating Drilling Unit in preparation for re-deployment in the Danish Sector of the southern North Sea. The work has been awarded on a turnkey basis to include the conversion of the existing mud system to a dual Oil & Water Based system and an increase in overall capacity from 1,800bbls to 4,000bbls. All supporting pipe work and structures are also included. Houlder supplied and installed pre-fabricated steelwork, piping and E&I working with subcontractors Aberdeen Fabricators, EOS and GST Ltd. GST, a new-start fabrication company supplied approximately fifty site workers to Able UK’s Seaton Yard, Hartlepool with Houlder supplying a 24 hour Site Management Team.
