EnergyGuard Solar Cover Selective Transmission 500 Micron Swimming Pool Cover Please note: The EnergyGuard Solar Cover are made to any size, however the sizes listed above are the most popular so we have listed them to give you an idea of cost according to dimensions - Please contact us for a personalised quote for your exact dimensions 1. Description EnergyGuard Solar Cover What is an EnergyGuard Solar Cover Selective transmission cover? Increasing pool temperatures and inhibiting algae growth are now possible with this innovative selective light filtering material, removing the need to compromise between temperature performance and chemical savings. Using 500µm selective transmission GeoBubble material, the new EnergyGuard material offers the highest possible savings on chemical and solar heating. By using the process of selective transmission to control solar energy absorption, the water temperature is raised by up to 5°C compared to an uncovered pool, and algae growth is inhibited, making this a dual purpose pool cover and the most efficient cost-saving material available. EnergyGuard Solar Cover Selective Transmission Maximising pool temperature and inhibiting algae growth at the same time is now possible with this innovative light filtering material, meaning there is no need to compromise between temperature performance and chemical savings. Offering optimized solar gain and algae inhibition, the patent applied for EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission material now effectively delivers the best possible balance between solar heat gain, chemical and filtration reductions, making it the most innovative solar cover to date. Selective Trasmission The bubble layer of the material uses a patented midnight blue pigment combination which gives the material its selective transmission properties. The pigment formulation works as a selective filter absorbing the visible wavelengths responsible for photosynthesis. This absorbed energy is passed to the pool through conduction, while the transmission properties of the bubble layer allows for Infrared Radiation (IR) wavelengths to pass through the material and be directly absorbed by the water. Evaporation prevention The material provides a barrier to evaporation, giving the pool the ability to preserve water and reduce heat loss through evaporative cooling. Prevention of evaporative losses has the largest impact on maintaining a pool’s temperature, responsible for 70% of the heat loss from the pool. EnergyGuard Selective Transmission has been tested to prevent over 98% of evaporative losses. 2. Features Insulating properties The unique profile of GeoBubble technology are cells provides both buoyancy and an insulative air gap to control heat transfer enabling the material to manage the pool environment and keep the pool at the desired temperature. GeoBubble Technology Increase water temperature by up to 7°C Inhibit Algae Growth Reduce energy consumption by up to 60% Reduce chemical consumption by up to 60% Reduce filtration time by up to 50% Eliminates water evaporation by 98%+ Reduce debris contamination Save money and shrink the carbon footprint of your pool Prices also include FREE solar protective sheet to be used when the cover is off the pool and in direct sunlight Winner of the Institute of Physics’ Business Innovation Award in 2018, EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission is our high performance solar cover material with GeoBubble™ technology. This swimming pool cover material was designed to maximise solar gains to your pool whilst filtering simultaneously preventing algae growth. A patented EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission cover on your pool could increase water temperature by as much at 7°C without the need for external heating. Award Winning Technology EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission was developed in collaboration with the University of Surrey. The clear top surface contains a UV stabiliser package selected to give each EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission cover an extensive 6+ year expected lifespan, whilst still allowing high transmission of solar radiation to the water below. The midnight blue bubble layer acts as a selective filter, preventing transmission of those wavelengths of light which facilitate photosynthesis, resulting in a warmer, algae free pool. Faster Spring Start Up Thanks to its ability to significantly reduce the growth of algae, EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission makes an excellent winter cover. Simply having an EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission cover on your pool during the winter months can significantly reduce the time and money spent on reopening your pool in the spring. We found that we could have a pool opened up and ready to swim in within 24 hours where an EnergyGuard™ Selective Transmission cover had been used. 3.
