Amber Optical Moulding

Hmtooling helped develop this odd devise, using a prototype Tool. The acrylic device is used for a Rail Way signal. The Tool was constructed using slides for the parabolic body and base. The base core was developed to position the specialised LED very accurately in relation to the parabola. The front face was made from an insert so that the optics could be modified until the correct candella of light and spread was achieved. All optical faces are polished to a mirror finish. Once the parts were tested and conformed to the relevant specs several thousand parts were moulded to make a series of test signals.
