WHAT SIZE DO I NEED?

If you have a significant amount of waste, it’s recommended to opt for a larger container as they must be filled level.
WHERE SHOULD I PUT IT?
Now you’ve thought about how big your skip needs to be, you need to consider whether there is space for it. Large containers require lots of room, so knowing the location for it is important to know before delivery. Not only does it need to fit, but there needs to be sufficient access for a lorry to deliver. Walls, fences and bushes need to be considered if you want the waste unit to be on your driveway, for instance.
DO I NEED A LICENCE FOR MY SKIP HIRE?
If you are intending on having the skip outside private property, you will need to acquire a permit. The cost of the permit is dependent on your local council and will need to be secured before delivery. If you are thinking of having the container outside of property, contact us and we can arrange a permit for you. There are some requirements to keep in mind if it is going to be placed on a public road:
- Nearby driveways cannot be blocked
- Maintenance entry points need to stay accessible, e.g., manhole covers
- Refuse containers need to be at least 15 metres away from junctions
