Large containers require lots of room, so knowing the location for it is important to know before delivery. Not only does it need to fit, but there needs to be sufficient access for a lorry to deliver. DO I NEED A LICENCE FOR MY SKIP HIRE?
If you are intending on having the skip outside private property, you will need to acquire a permit. The cost of the permit is dependent on your local council and will need to be secured before delivery. If you are thinking of having the container outside of property, contact us and we can arrange a permit for you. There are some requirements to keep in mind if it is going to be placed on a public road:
- Nearby driveways cannot be blocked
- Maintenance entry points need to stay accessible, e.g., manhole covers
- Refuse containers need to be at least 15 metres away from junctions
