To calculate the size of an EPDM pond liner, take the maximum length plus twice the maximum depth, and the maximum width plus twice the maximum depth, then add an overlap. A pond 6m long, 4m wide and 1m deep needs a liner of 9m x 7m once the 0.5m overlap is added. It holds roughly 24,000 litres.
Gordon Low Products offers a Pond Liner Estimator that works out sheet size and pond volume from your length, width and depth. It is a planning tool only. Always measure the finished excavation with a flexible tape before you buy.
