15mm acoustic plasterboard is commonly used where office partitions need more mass and better sound performance than standard board alone can provide.
What to consider
It is usually installed as part of a complete partition system with studs, insulation, multiple board layers and carefully sealed junctions. The thicker board can improve acoustic performance, but the final result still depends on doors, glazing, penetrations and ceiling details.
Specify the full tested system rather than choosing a board in isolation. For refurbishments where permanent construction is not desirable, acoustic pods can provide another route to enclosed quiet space with less disruption.
