Fresh plasterboard can look simple to paint, but the final result depends heavily on preparation.
Jointing compounds, screw heads and cut edges must be properly finished and sanded before decoration begins. Dust should be removed and the surface primed or mist-coated using a product suitable for the board and finishing system. Skipping preparation can leave visible joints, uneven absorption and a patchy surface once the top coat dries.
In office fit-outs, lighting often exposes imperfections that were difficult to see during installation. Inspect walls under the actual finished lighting before handover, especially around pods, glazed partitions and reception areas where surfaces are highly visible. Careful preparation produces a cleaner result and reduces the need for costly snagging.
