Premier Inn, Manchester City Centre

This busy, city centre hotel in Manchester had a single ply waterproofing system, which had been applied on top of insulation and a concrete deck. The single ply had begun to fail and many previous patch repairs had been carried out. The client was now looking for a complete waterproofing system that would solve all of the roof problems. A Decothane Beta 10 System from Liquid Plastics was specified. This is a cold, liquid applied system that cures to form a completely seamless, waterproof membrane. The single ply was first primed using Liquid Plastics’ Quick Cure Primer before installing the new waterproofing. The full waterproofing system consists of a Decothane Base Coat, reinforced with Reemat glass fibre matting and completed with a Decothane Top Coat in Slate Grey. Walkway areas were also highlighted using white Decothane. The roof is now both fully waterproofed and gives a far more pleasing aspect over the rooftops of Manchester.
