The Oil and Gas Transition Training Fund provides financial support to help workers in Scotland’s oil and gas sector gain new skills for careers in renewable and sustainable energy.
Managed by Skills Development Scotland (SDS), the fund is a joint initiative between the Scottish and UK Governments.
If you are currently, or were recently, employed in the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire, you may be eligible for funding towards training that will support your move into the renewable energy sector.
How to apply
Applications are made via https://transitiontrainingfund.scot/
Start by registering on the website. Once your account is set up, you can select your preferred training options and submit your funding application.
Please note, the fund is not for recertification of existing skills.
Training Courses at EPIT
Our training portfolio is designed with the energy transition in mind, ensuring you gain skills that are in demand across hydrogen, renewables, offshore wind, and wider electrification projects. Each course is delivered by experienced instructors in our Aberdeen facility and meets recognised industry standards
Key Information about the Oil & Gas Transition Training Fund
To access the funding, you must be:
- Currently or recently employed in the oil and gas sector or its wider supply chain (within the past 24 months*).
- Live in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire, or work for an employer with an Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire office.
- Resident in Scotland and have the right to work in the UK.
- Able to demonstrate how the training will improve your prospects of accessing a job in the renewable or sustainable energy sector.
*There may be exceptions made for those returning to work after a career break.
How to apply with EPIT
Once your Transition Training Fund application has been approved, email our training team at info@epitgroup.com with your course of choice and
preferred course date.
We’ll secure your place on the course, send you joining instructions, and confirm any pre-course requirements.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend contacting us as soon as your approval comes through, as places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
