Which timber species are best suited for external use?

It depends on your project. For heavy-duty civil or marine construction, we recommend species like Ekki, Greenheart, Opepe, and Oak. For decking where strength and durability matter but the loading isn’t as extreme, we often use Cumaru, Ipe, Jatoba, and Balau. For lighter external cladding, species such as Cedar, Larch, and ThermoWood are ideal.
