Floating Glass Aquarium Staircase

The photo shows our spectacular glass staircase which floats around a 4 meter diameter fish tank. The stair is to be fabricated from a single steel helical stringer with cantilevering glass treads and glass balustrade to stairs and landing. The stringer will be a engineered box pre-constructed running around the outer edge of the stair with open side ‘post-box’ cut-outs to enable the glass treads to cantilever from the stringer towards the aquarium in the centre. Glass treads are to be heat soaked toughened laminated glass 40mm thick with structural sentry interlayer. These will be inserted through the stringer from the outside edge of the stair and held in place using an ingenuous clamping device built inside the stringer all then to be secured with high modulus silicon.
