This was an extension to a four bedroom residential property, adding a family room and a new bed also converting one of the existing bedrooms into an en-suite. We also made some alteration to the kitchen and added a downstairs cloakroom and converting the study into a utility room. The existing bathroom was also refurbished complete with fittings and tiling. The heating system in the property was extended and a new condensing mains fed boiler added giving the client the benefit of mains pressure hot water. The en-suite to the new bedroom was converted into a wet room complete with waterproofing, fittings and tiling. The location of the extension to the rear of the site made the construction process a challenge. We had to remove approximately 60cm2 of soil before we could start the foundation, with only a one metre passage way to the side of the property for access. During the works we had to consider the residence living at the home so the noise and disruption had to be kept to a minimum. We also had to move some of the residence to new rooms so the construction of a new entrance into the existing building could be formed. The works where completed in September 2008 and the site cleared and handed over ready for the new residence.
