CORNBROOK RUNNING TRACK

Background

Cornbrook 15-Storey Apartment Development upgraded its rooftop with a functional, aesthetic running track to enhance resident recreation and fitness.

The Project

DCM Surfaces installed a 130-meter running track on the rooftop of Cornbrook Apartments in Manchester. Constructed from dark green wetpour rubber featuring crushed glass for enhanced anti-slip properties, the track is framed by Dorset Gold resin-bound gravel.

Aluminium edging was used to separate the running track from the walking path. Below both products, a permeable rubber gravel mix base replaced traditional tarmac, supporting and stabilising the structure. The superior drainage, durability, low maintenance, and visual appeal of the resin-bound gravel made it an ideal choice for the rooftop.
