Web Seminar: Underwater Acoustic Systems
13-02-2014
Underwater Acoustic Systems
Thursday, February 13, 2014. 9am (Pacific Time, USA).
Wes Mayne, Product Manager, Acoustic Test Systems, will provide an overview of the Data Physics SignalSound products that are used to generate sound underwater. Applications for these products include sonar testing, training of sonar operators, proving weapon systems, mine detonation, and other uses. This seminar will not be highly technical; rather, it will provide a general overview of the equipment used for underwater noise generation. Those who are already using underwater projectors, towfish, and arrays will find this seminar to be a good introduction to Data Physics’s products and a good review of the systems. Those who are not familiar with these systems, but who have a need for underwater acoustic equipment, should find this seminar to be an excellent introduction to the systems.
During this seminar, you will learn about topics such as:
Moving-coil projectors
Calibration arrays
Towed sources (towfish and arrays)
Signal generation components and cabling
Storage and handling equipment
Wes Mayne has worked in the area of acoustics and special test facility development around the world for over 25 years. Wes is currently the Product Manager of SignalSound Acoustic Test Systems at Data Physics.
