Multiple DAQ chassis work together
In an experiment to verify the Hadronic Weak Interation, University of Kentucky needed 150 channels of simultaneous 24 bit analog input. Due to the sensitivity of the system, the DAQ units have to be spread across multiple isolated units. So instead of perhaps just one ACQ2006 with 192 channels fitted, the DAQ system is spread across 5 ACQ1002R boxes, each fitted with 2 x ACQ435ELF-24 digitizers, the standard channel count most closely matching the modularity of the source electronics. The 24 bit ADC devices capture continuously at 64kHz, with a variation on the standard Repeating Gate Mode firmware that resynchronizes the ADC sample clock every 60Hz trigger period. Data is streamed continuously from each unit using Gigabit Ethernet and standard TCP/IP networking software. The system runs 24/7 collecting statistical data. D-TACQ manufactures a range of off-the-shelf high performance data acquisition hardware modules and systems. The systems are highly programmable and and can be adapted to meet many requirements.
