Find The Needle Add My Company
What did the client need? The University of Essex approached us as they needed a cleanroom to continue researching nano technology for use in commodities such as mobile phones. The department’s existing cleanroom was being repurposed into a hospital training area so they needed to find a new solution. We collaborated with the architects and builders; evolving the cleanroom design to ensure it was functional and efficient. How did the client benefit? The new location for the cleanroom was restricted on space. The University of Essex liked our approach to supply air, as we use localised fan filter units opposed to an air handling unit (AHU). This meant they didn’t need a plant room so they could maximise on floor space. How did we help the client? In their old cleanroom, our client felt that the manual operation was restrictive. Through our ECO cleanroom control system, our client has full control over the cleanroom through a touch screen HMI interface, which also displays all the room performance information. Using localised FFUs is not only a lower initial investment than an AHU, it also has lower running costs, so the department is now benefitting from efficient energy management.
