Our Chilstone team collaborated with MJ Rooney Construction Ltd on a beautiful new build project in the heart of the Kent countryside. This project blends architectural character while embracing the needs of modern life, showcasing the beauty and quality of traditional stonework in a truly contemporary setting.
The property’s entrance is defined by a classical stone portico. It provides a grand yet welcoming focal point, with strong columns and elegant proportions, setting the tone for the rest of the house beyond. This feature not only adds character but anchors the home visually in its rural surroundings.
A Beautiful Home Front and Back
At the rear of the property, a bespoke top cornice was added to the pergola in the outdoor dining area bringing refinement and texture. Further plinths were installed to create a more formal structure, framing the space.
Although the house exterior draws from traditional architectural influences, its interior is thoroughly modern. It includes a state-of-the-art basement cinema, a professional-grade gym, and even a hidden underground car lift, marrying elegance with everyday practicality.
Handcrafted Details Make All The Difference
To complement the sash windows, we handcrafted surrounds, headers, jambs and cills. These elements bring style and depth to the elevations, while plinths were used to define the structure and ensure it sits naturally in the countryside setting.
Every detail of the stonework was thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted by hand to suit the overall aesthetic of the home.
