Weld studs

Weld studs and weld pins are designed specifically for capacitive discharge welding by means of passing a high current pulse through the pip at the head of the component. They are suitable for use on thin gauge cold rolled sheet where reverse marking and penetration into the parent material is minimised. Commonly in medium carbon steel, aluminium, brass and stainless steel. Often copper plated for enhanced conductivity.
