Anodising Aluminium Extrusions

Anodising Aluminium Extrusions

Anodising is an electrolytic passivation process that increases a metals natural oxide layer. This increases the metals corrosion and wear resistance, as well as providing a much more adhesive surface for paints and glues.Although pure aluminium produces its own protective oxide layer, this ability is greatly reduced in alloys of aluminium, meaning they are more susceptible to corrosion.Anodising can give a ‘natural’ or ‘colour’ finish.
