Part of this companies business is the implementation of smoke control systems. Primarily designed to control smoke in the event of a fire, they are also utilised for everyday ventilation and take weather conditions into account. Systems have also been implemented to detect carbon monoxide levels in depots where there is heavy loading and unloading traffic. The Siemens range of PLC's are used and we have written many programs to read the various sensors and control the relevent window actuators, extraction fans etc. Most of the systems are designed with manual overrides, these enable fire officers to control them on arrival at the scene.
