AD plant tarriff is met, thanks to Bubble toil and sweat An AD plant is literally a cow's stomach on a big scale, producing biogas from energy crops such as rye and maize etc. Anaerobic Digestion is the process feeding energy crops into a heated Hydrolysis tank allowing biology to turn the crop into Digestate and Biogas. Sounds simple but the actual process is much more involved. Bubble Automation were contracted to re-do a full SCADA System in the midlands. The Anaerobic Digester plant just wasn’t performing to its planned capacity. The plant we were involved in wasn’t hitting production milestones, mostly due to a lack of satisfactory automated control and correct handling of communication to integrated equipment. We took this into account in our rewrite with emphasis on efficient functionality and reliability. Our client was impressed with the result and employed our services for a further 7 sites. This proved challenging as the sites were not identical. However, we eagerly rose to the challenge and deployed our codebase in 4 phases. We travelled extensively all over the UK in order to meet the required schedule. Although the plants were a proven technology parts of the system were effectively still in an R&D stage. To increase efficiency even further our client monitored the biogas output, Bubble Automation added enhancements as and when required. We implemented a remote access system in order to save time and money on further site visits, most of the modification work was implemented from our offices. Thanks to Bubble Automation's involvement in these plants they are now meeting production milestones.
