Merc announces acquisition of Stanworth Engineers Ltd

Merc Engineering UK Ltd is delighted to announce the recent share purchase of Stanworth Engineers (of Burnley). Stanworth Engineers has become the third company in the Merc Group and brings with it a team of highly skilled engineers and aerospace customer base. The Company employs 30 people with a sales turnover of £1.5 million. At the heart of the North-West’s Aerospace manufacturing hub, Stanworth Engineers has operated from its Burnley premises for over 40 years as a leading manufacturer of high precision components and assemblies for the aerospace industry, including products such as engine components, drain valves, and components for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Stanworths is AS9100 approved and has several Customer approvals including BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Airbus & GKN. In the past the Company has supported projects such as VC10, Tornado and Harrier. The Company has an extensive range of CNC and conventional machinery including CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Grinding and assembly capabilities. Bringing Stanworths into the Merc Group will see employee numbers rise to 130 and group turnover increase to nearly £9 million. The combined resource will allow Merc to service larger packages of work in the Aerospace, Defence & Power Generation sectors and continue to offer its existing clients a wider range of machining options.
