Solar Carports for Healthcare Sites

For clinics, medical centres and healthcare estates, solar carports for healthcare sites can form part of a practical strategy to control energy consumption and support sustainability objectives. Common demands include ventilation, lighting, clinical support equipment and temperature control, so the right approach begins with understanding when and where electricity is used.

Solar carports can make productive use of suitable parking areas while creating an additional location for renewable electricity generation. The commercial case will depend on consumption data, equipment suitability and the layout of the property.

British Power Energy works with organisations to explore solar PV, solar carports, battery storage, voltage optimisation and energy management options. Solutions should be matched to actual site needs, with attention to patient comfort, safety and service continuity.
