South East Galvanizers is celebrating a long-standing partnership which has seen it provide effective protection to trailers used by Olympic water sport teams. The plant has been working with Surrey-based De Graaff Trailers for over five years, with its recent work seeing it galvanize the steel elements of trailers used by the Paralympic Canoe Team, GB Rowing, and professional rowing teams across the country. Neil Pearson, Commercial Manager at South East Galvanizers, explained: “Over the past five years we’ve galvanized a variety of trailers for the team at De Graaff Trailers, which have been used for motorbikes, watercraft, jet skis and rowing racing teams. Galvanizing the steel components ensures they are protected from corrosion and rust in the long-term, particularly essential as many of them are permanently situated outdoors and open to the elements.” De Graaff Trailers specialises in supplying popular and branded trailer parts as well as complete trailers, with the company being selected to build the British Olympic rowing teams trailers for Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
