Baker Perkins at Paintstanbul & Turkcoat

Baker Perkins will be exhibiting at Paintstanbul & Turkcoat 2016 at the Istanbul Expo Center, Turkey, 24th - 26th March. We will be located in Hall 9, stand C266. Baker Perkins twin-screw extruders and systems are specifically designed for all types of powder coating formulations, including epoxy, hybrids, polyester, acrylics and fines recycling. All the important elements of an extruder will be demonstrated: gearbox, shafts and screws, clam shell barrel and control system. The HMI exhibited in Istanbul shows the new and upgraded control system developed for the range of MP extruders. The touch-screen HMI provides clear, at-a-glance visualisation of the process, including current status of all major components and parameters. Alarm management means that the operator can immediately identify and locate problems. Automatic management of recipe settings ensures exact, unvarying replication of product, eliminating quality variations caused by operator error. Start and shutdown sequencing cuts waste at the beginning and end of each run: production does not start until the machine has warmed up, and the extruder does not shut down until product is completely ejected from the barrel. This also avoids the necessity of cleaning out product that has solidified in the barrel. Data trending/logging, and network connection for data acquisition support, improves short- and long-term efficiency and improvement programmes. A worldwide support network includes fully configurable software packages and interchangeable components across the full range of machines for spares commonality. Baker Perkins will highlight a new gearbox condition monitoring service that reduces unexpected downtime. It is available on new MP extruders and may also be retrofitted to existing machines. Baker Perkins supplies a comprehensive range of twin-screw extruders. Options extend from basic manual operation to a fully automated process line with centralised controls. The MP24PC Integra is used for small batch production, colour matching, and new product development in the laboratory. Outputs up 100 kg/hour can be achieved. Feeding, twin-screw extruding, cooling and flaking operations are integrated in the MP24PC Integra. This flexible machine meets the demand for a rapid-response system capable of fulfilling batch production needs with simple, rapid product changeover. The unit can be re-configured, without the need for tools, to enable production of colour matching samples that can be consistently reproduced, first time, on high output production machines. The range extends to the MP80PC with high-output continuous production at up to 2,900kg.hour.
