From the earth to the moon, Axon' Cable offers interconnect solutions
123 Radar, drones, civil aircraft, fighters, satellites, rovers, the list of applications for which Axon’ Cable can provide interconnect solutions is extensive - but all have a common goal: the need for miniature and reliable components. Paris Air Show represents an excellent opportunity for Axon’ Cable to present its expertise to the avionics and space markets. Data transmission, power distribution, weight and space saving, resistance to severe environments, come and discover the custom designed solutions showcased by Axon’ on stand C106, hall 2B. More comfort for passengers Axon’ Cable delivers electrical links not only for flight command systems but also for passenger comfort. From a starting point of industry-standard connectors including HDMI, ETHERNET, USB and jack plugs which typically equip seats, Axon’ engineers will be able to design high performance interconnects. Custom designed overmoulding for a better protection of the cable assembly in a restricted space, very flexible cables for an easier integration into the seats and EMI protection are just a few examples. A large range of components for one standard Another area of Axon’s expertise lies in being able to design and manufacture components in accordance with a defined standard. This is the case, for example, with the MIL-STD-1553 standard which describes a communication bus widely used in avionics and space. Axon’ Cable offers all the components including cables, couplers, and connectors required for data transmission systems. They are characterized by their high reliability. This technology has been used not only for the Ariane 5 launcher but also for Airbus aircraft for many years. Space saving and fast installation Axon’ Cable engineers design interconnects which meet challenging requirements including space saving, resistance to vibration and shocks. This is the case of micro-D connectors designed and manufactured by Axon’ Cable. In the heart of these miniature and highly reliable products: male micro-D contacts made up of 10 strands of copper alloy compressed during insertion into the female contact. Therefore a high number of electrical contact points is permanently assured. The spacing between each contact inserted into the connector is 1.27 mm, i.e. twice as compact as D-Sub connectors. The company has also developed a quick and easy connection system (D-Click) which requires no tooling: the time saving during installation is obvious. Extreme miniaturization Axon’ also offers nano-D connectors with contact spacing of 0.635 mm. These products are designed to meet the most challenging environment including avionics, defense and space. A demo of augmented reality will help visitors to better understand the manufacture of connectors and ready-to-plug links manufactured by Axon’ Cable. Paris Air Show will also be an opportunity for the company to showcase their expertise in cutting, injection and assembling micro and nano-technologies of the new subsidiary of the group, Axon’ Nanotec.
