Now there’s a Safer Way to Stain Agarose Gels - New Midori Green DNA Stain from Anachem
Now there’s a Safer Way to Stain Agarose Gels New Midori Green DNA Stain from Anachem Anachem is pleased to introduce Midori Green DNA Stain, that has none of the hazards traditionally associated with using ethidium bromide stain for detecting nucleic acid in agarose gels. Midori Green is as sensitive as ethidium bromide and can be used in exactly the same way for agarose gel electrophoresis. When bound to DNA or RNA, Midori Green DNA Stain emits green fluorescence. It is compatible with a wide variety of gel reading instruments due to having one strong excitation peak centred around 500nm and two secondary fluorescence excitation peaks (~300nm and ~400nm). The fluorescence emission is centred around ~540nm. Midori Green DNA Stain is non-carcinogenic and according to the Ames test it causes significantly fewer mutations than ethidium bromide. Anachem Ltd., now a METTLER TOLEDO company, is the leading specialist distributor of liquid handling equipment to the laboratory community in the UK and Ireland, with forty years of technical expertise and innovation.
