A radio repeater receives a signal from a walkie-talkie or other radio and instantly re-broadcasts it with more power and from a higher or better-placed aerial. This dramaticallye range of communication, making it ideal for covering large areas. We offer both UHF and VHF repeaters for hire, including ICOM, Vertex VXR-7000, and Hytera Digital models, all with up to 25 watts of transmission power. Each hire includes an antenna with strong spring clips for easy attachment to your chosen support, and a 10-metre lead. A standard 230v mains socket is required for power. Repeaters are best placed centrally within the area of operation, ideally on a rooftop, tower, or other elevated spot. They're compatible with all of our walkie-talkie radios and are simple to use, with just an on/off switch, volume control, and channel selection buttons. Each channel is preset with a CTCSS code to help avoid interference from other users. The unit must be kept sheltered from weather conditions.
