Name the birdy litter bin competition winner revealed – say hello to Chomp!
Regular followers of Amberol’s newsletters, community news and social media will know that we recently ran a competition to name the newest addition to the Amberol family – our Chocolate Orange bird litter bin. Entrants were invited to submit their suggestion for a name, with the winner then selected from a draw. We can now announce that our chocolate orange friend has a name at last – so say hello to Chomp! Ready to gobble up all your rubbish The winner is Shirley Tuck who is the secretary of Blundeston in Bloom in Norfolk. Shirley suggested the name Chomp for the litter bin because “He is ready to gobble up all the rubbish and chomp it away". Congratulations to Shirley and to Blundeston which will now get the very first Chomp. Located between the seaside towns of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, Blundeston are previous winners of a Gold award in the Large Village category in Anglia in Bloom. Now all Shirley has to do is to decide where to locate Chomp. No doubt he will be popular with adults and children alike. Amberol’s animal bins can be found all over the UK and the world in parks, playgrounds, schools and shopping centres as well as theme parks, zoos - and even on ferry boats. The range includes the unofficial Amberol mascot, the Percy Penguin litter bin, the very cute Amberol chick and Ambere the Amberol bear bin. Did you know? That Amberol’s animal bins can also speak! Our bins can be customised to include a voice box which is activated by a sensor. So, every time that litter is placed inside the bird’s beak or bear’s mouth, they talk. Messages can be a standardised ‘Thank you’ or specially recorded. In fact, some of our bins can even sing their thanks! Unfortunately, we are unable to offer the usual on-site demonstrations by our reps during April due to Covid-19 restrictions, but all our bins can be found on the Amberol website. Just call 01773 830 930 or email sales@amberol.co.uk to find out more.
