Legionnaires disease is contracted by inhaling water droplets containing the bacterium Legionella Pneumophilla which are suspended in the air. The bacteria may be found in many purpose built water systems for example cooling towers, evaporative condensers and many forms of water storage tank (for example a whirlpool spa). To this day outbreaks have highlighted the potential severity of contracting this disease – a case in Kent in August 2009 has proven vital. AQL will arrange for the testing of a sample of your water by a UKAS accredited laboratory with a report of their findings issued within twenty one days.
