New Morrisons, Gallowgate, Glasgow - Completed Nov 2011

Muir Construction Ltd gave ACP a call to resolve a retaining/security wall issue within a tight programme and even tighter site conditions. The tight programme meant that insitu concrete was not an option so, having consulted ACP’s sales and design team it was proposed to utilise ACP’s prestressed vertical cantilever panels. This system is both relatively cheap and quick to install when compared to traditional and alternative construction methods. The wall took one day to erect. The new superstore is part of a multi-million pound jobs and regeneration scheme to boost Glasgow’s east end. It will occupy 50,000sq ft on a previously derelict site in the Gallowgate creating about 280 jobs.
