WEDGE GROUP WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR TO THE BOARD

B E Wedge Holdings Ltd, the holding company for Wedge Group Galvanizing, has announced the appointment of a new Board Director who brings a wealth of local political and legal experience to the role. A former MP for the Wolverhampton South West constituency, Rob Marris has joined Willenhall based B E Wedge Holdings Ltd with immediate effect, and will work alongside the existing Board Members to develop the Group and its 14 galvanizing plants across the UK, together with its subsidiaries and overseas interests. Rob was an MP for two periods first between 2001-2010, during this time he was appointed Parliament Private Secretary (PPS) to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. Rob was appointed Shadow Financial Secretary to the Treasury in his second period 2015-2017, before standing down at the last General Election following an 11-year career. Jeremy Woolridge, Executive Chairman of Wedge Group Galvanizing, explained: “We are thrilled to welcome Rob to the Group. He brings with him a wealth of valuable legal and political experience to the role, as well as in-depth knowledge of Wolverhampton and the wider region. As an organisation, we’re very much looking forward to working alongside him in the months and years ahead to drive further positive change to the business and our local communities.” Rob studied law and trained as a solicitor at Manby and Stewart in Wolverhampton, later working across the region in Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent as a specialist in civil litigation and employment law.
