MERSEYSIDE TEAMS UP FOR FOOTBALL STADIUM UPGRADE

Merseyside Galvanizing has teamed up to provide an enhanced home for Everton Football Club. The plant and Shawton Engineering Ltd have galvanized and fabricated steelwork which has been used to create a walkway to access, install, and maintain new floodlighting at Goodison Park. With a capacity for 40,221 fans, the new floodlights were installed to enable the stadium to meet FA criteria. Paul Hiscock, Contracts Manager at Shawton Engineering Ltd, explained: “We called upon our long-standing partners, Merseyside Galvanizing, to provide their hot dip galvanizing treatment to around 50 tonnes of steel, as our client required a long-term protection and the need for little or no maintenance. This is especially important as the structures are based outdoors and are open to all kinds of British weather.” Richard Smetham, Sales Manager at Merseyside Galvanizing, explained: “We were really pleased to assist our client on this project at Goodison Park.
