About Us

A J Services are a HVAC specialist, a family run business with over 30 years experience which has become the go to company for a wide range of products associated with heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry. The most popular range is the access doors which are manufactured in house. Access doors allow technicians safe and easy access to ducting this means that the ductwork and components which are housed inside can be regularly cleaned and serviced/maintained when is needed in accordance with legislation. If business/building owners/managers fail to adhere to these rules a fine and prison sentence. The access panels are as standard produced in galvanised steel - although if requested this can be changed to either 304 or 316 stainless steel. Starting at 50mm they can reach 2000mm these can be supplied in various different shapes: square/rectangle, curved oval, flat oval and pressed access doors with additional safety features dependent on the range such as chains and piano hinges, which makes removing the door easier. Along with access doors AJS manufacture a huge range of ducting dampers - with volume control, fire dampers, constant and non return dampers all available options. These ranges all have different functionality, but are all equally as important as one another. The volume control dampers help to regulate the air velocity in the ducting - this means that rooms connected will have a greater control of the conditioned air which is entering them through the system so will heat/cool faster and more effectively. This means that less energy is used which in turn will see lower energy bills. Fire damper however are designed as safety feature in the ductwork a connected fusible link will monitor the air temperature and once the surrounding air reaches this the blades will be forced shut and preventing the fire from spreading further. Along with the AJS also supply all of the associated components which are needed to make to complete a full heating, ventilation and air conditioning system this includes: air conditioning units, slotted channel, filter, t pieces, bends, flexible ducting, grilles, diffusers, couplers and much more. As well as being a supplier of a host of products A J Services offers a selection of maintenance and testing services - all of which are carried out by trained and experienced technicians. Services include: Installation, Maintenance & Repairs for air conditioning and refrigeration units, it is important that once either unit is installed that they undergo regular maintenance to ensure they are operating effectively he Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (regulation 5) requires employers to keep mechanical ventilation systems in good working order, carrying out regular checks and repairs. As well as this can provide technicians for both the installation and the cleaning of ductwork. Technicians are TR19 specialists this means that you can be safe in the knowledge that the work is to the highest possible standard. The installation of ducting is carried out to DW144 and for fire ducts BW11 technicians have full accreditation all installers either obtained their skill card as a duct fitter from completion of City and Guilds/Advanced Craft Certificate or have been trained to a minimum of NVQ Level 2. Lastly A J Services can offer testing and certification on fire and smoke dampers this is a requirement set out by British Standards BS9999:2008 “Arrangements should be made for all fire dampers to be tested by a competent person on completion of installation and at regular intervals not exceeding 2 years, and to be repaired or replaced immediately if found to be faulty. Spring operated fire dampers should be tested annually and fire dampers situated in dust laden and similar atmospheres should be tested much more frequently, at periods to suit the degree of pollution.” This is a process which is carried out by trained technicians after successful completion of testing a certificate will be provided to provide conformation that the fire and smoke dampers are fit for purpose. The Testing will include: >Identify and locate each fire damper >Retrofit access doors if any of these are inaccessible. >Carry out fire damper testing, cleaning and drop testing and reset each fire damper. >Provide accurate records of fire damper testing, cleaning and drop testing, including before and after photographs of cleaning. >Identify any problems and recommend remedial action. >Carry out remedial work where required. >Generally tested for Integrity (E), Insulation (I) (if required) and Reduced Leakage (S) (again, if required). Please contact a member of our team who will be able to deal with you enquiry and discuss your requirement.
