Bowers UK has launched the NEXUS 610 series of cost effective Rockwell / Brinell hardness testers. Featuring a generous workpiece aperture, the robust testers’ bodies have a fine casted rigid structure and include a load cell, closed loop force actuator to provide continuous force feedback information to the units’ advanced electronics. The new generation of NEXUS hardness testing instruments meets or exceeds the ISO, ASTM and JIS standards. (ISO 6508, ISO 2039/1, ASTM E18, ASTM B254, JIS Z2245). The 610 series provides a forces range from 2.5kgf/24.5N to 150kgf/1471kN, whilst advanced algorithms, digital filter technology and state of the art electronics help enable the delivery of very accurate and repeatable Rockwell / Brinell hardness readings. Despite the fact that the efficient new testers are able to complete test cycles in as little as 15 seconds - at a dwell time of 10 seconds, the advanced NEXUS 610 system avoids “overshoot” during test force application, guaranteeing outstanding GR & R results. The 3 model series enables a wide range of applications to be covered - The entry level 610RS model performs hardness tests in all Rockwell and Superficial Rockwell scales. The 610RSB adds Brinell scale capability, 2.5kgf/24.5N - 187.5kgf/1838N, to Rockwell and Superficial Rockwell use. The 610 RSB model is supplied with a separate Brinell measuring microscope which offers Brinell optical testing up to 187.5kgf/1838N. After keying in the indent diameter, hardness values are instantly displayed on the610 RSB’s LCD screen. All NEXUS 610 series testers feature a high-performance, embedded fan-less micro PC with an MS Windows operating system and a wireless mouse and keyboard. In addition to the ability to generate useful statistic results, a large memory enables both testing program and testing value storage.
