Design: Susan Lacey Design Project Overview Wagstaff were contracted to space plan and supply new office furniture. To refurbish and relocate existing office furniture from four separate locations and also plan and manage the furniture relocation for a 2,500 person move, along with the supply of new loose furnishings, from four separate London locations into Tower Place, within schedule and to budget. Key Issues 1. Marsh's specific move programme dictated that approximately 250 people relocated on a two weekly basis allowing 7 days for furniture delivery cleaning relocation and building. Existing furniture to be modified, refurbished or replaced in the move programme. 2. Spare furniture was audited and planned into refurbishments for Marsh UK regional offices. 3. Deliveries could only be made outside of normal working hours. The Process 1. Wagstaff to audit all existing furniture, indicating condition and record this by release date. Then produce and agree Tower Place space plan by floor and identify all goods required. The audit was cross referenced with furniture release programme and any shortfalls ordered. 2. Wagstaff to dismantle existing furniture, repair and replace as necessary and place on specially manufactured trolleys for move. All existing tambour doors to be replaced, all storage above 1100 mm high cut down to Tower Place foot print. All seating products were steam cleaned and tested. All locks checked and replaced as necessary. 3. Evening move programme produced with all deliveries scheduled in accordance with build programme.. 4. Wagstaff to issue scaled numbered drawings for furniture rebuild programme and crate, personal equipment relocation. 5. Wagstaff to supply all other loose furnishings on an open book policy. Supplying products at cost plus prices with addition menu based costings for storage, delivery and installation.
