Historically online moisture analysers used on hydrocarbon gas streams have often been slow to recover, prone to drift induced by contaminants and difficult to validate. To complicate matters, moisture analyser calibrations are mainly performed on air or Nitrogen, not on hydrocarbons so traceably is invalidated. This is an issue largely ignored by vendors and users but has commercial implications when a cold box freezes or a hydrate formation blocks a pipeline. Users want reliable moisture analysers that can be traceably calibrated for hydrocarbon service. They require a practical validation methodology and they want analysers that are simple to operate, fast to respond and provide reliable data with accurate results. They need localised expertise and access to traceable calibration services and support. MCM offers a Mass traceable calibration route that is certified for use on hydrocarbons.
