Bourne Leisure Group is the owner of Haven, Butlins and Warner Leisure Hotels and has its head office in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Head Office is home to over 700 support staff vital to operations nationwide and therefore when it came to waterproofing the failing roof, it was essential that business continued in the building unhindered. The existing felt overlay had failed in many places and subsequent repairs had exacerbated the matter, creasing and moving, leading to further water ingress into the building. In looking for a long lasting solution to this, it was also necessary to take into account the large amount of plant on the roof. Gables UK Ltd used the Tor Elastaseal System, which was applied seamlessly, not only on the large open areas of the roof, but also around the bases of the plant, making the whole area watertight. For future plant maintenance, a contrasting non-slip walkway was added. The finished application is seamless, waterproof and a credit to the Gables Application Team. Both the client and Tor Coatings are delighted with the results.
