More with less
During the Biennale INTERIEUR 2016 exhibition, DAVUKA and ORAC will be launching their latest collection – MODERN. This new collection interprets modernism in angular and sharp lines, breaking traditions and conventions and focusing more than ever on the symbiosis between architecture and decoration.
Form follows function
Modernists focus on the essential – their designs are free of superfluous details. They focus on the intended function or use of an object. Using simple and sober lines, they create clean, minimalist architectural concepts that are at the same time very decorative and stylish.
Architectural interpretation, inspired by experts
“With this new collection, we are interpreting modernism via angular and sharp lines”, explains Yves Taillieu. “In order to ensure that a specific style is interpreted rigorously and correctly, we always work together with specialists. For our new MODERN collection, we called in the assistance of the Italian architect Orio Tonini.
Orio succeeds in giving our designs an architectural interpretation and integrating them perfectly into the surrounding space. We were certain from the very beginning that he was the person we wanted to work with in designing our MODERN collection, consisting of indirect lighting profiles, cornice mouldings, skirting, and 3-D ornaments, and launching them during the Biennale INTERIEUR 2016. Orio is a master at seamlessly integrating our products into the architectural space instead of simply adding them afterwards as an afterthought.”
