Lithium-Ion Batteries Banned from Passenger Aircraft

Whilst this is stated as an interim measure, it will be in force as long as the ICAO continues to work on a new lithium battery packaging performance standard, as expected in 2018. The new measure applies just to lithium-ion batteries which are shipped as cargo on passenger aircraft.
