Opaque labels, also known as cover up or blockout labels, are designed to cover (and usually replace or update) existing print work. Our opaque labels are made from matt white paper with a black opaque coating on the reverse side and an opaque adhesive. Supplied on A4 sheets, they can be printed with inkjet and laser printers or handwritten.
Opaque materials do not transmit light (i.e. do not let light pass through them), which means that we cannot see through them as we can transparent materials, like glass. This means that when an opaque label is applied onto a surface, it blocks out any existing print work on that surface. This provides a clear surface for new or updated print work to be added to existing products, packaging, envelopes, stationery, and other printed materials, including branding and promotional print work.
Opaque labels are a simple and budget friendly solution to cover up mistakes and out of date information or to recycle packaging, envelopes, branding and promotional prints, and stationery. Instead of paying for new items to be printed, you can simply print replacement designs onto opaque labels and apply them onto existing printed items.
