Industrial Batteries (UK) Limited – IBLUK – has introduced new sizing software which allows them to select for their customers the optimum Alcad nickel-cadmium Solar battery for their photovoltaic application.
The sizing uses the daily energy need, the back-up time required and the nominal load voltage, along with the available daylight and temperature for the critical and summer months, to select the appropriate cell type and number of cells from the Alcad Solar range. Other, optional, factors, such as future load extension, aging factor etc., can also be included. The software then also calculates the recommended requirements for the solar panels for the application. This can be performed over the popular solar power voltages of 12, 24 and 48 volts.
Alcad Solar storage batteries are purpose built to operate in photovoltaic and other renewable energy applications. The range is specifically designed to work over the wide temperature range and unpredictable duty cycle found in these applications. With a high level of reliability and very low maintenance, a low life-cycle cost can be achieved.
