Gibson founded Gibson Saddlers during the early 1900s he had one vision in mind – to create stylish but durable, high quality saddlery. As a horseman, he knew his leather wear had to do much more than just look good – it had to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use. His dedication to first-rate products and customer service soon paid off as word spread across the counties drawing customers from far and wide to purchase his goods. It was this very same quality and attention to detail that earned us the Royal Warrant In 1932, an honour that we retain today by supplying saddlery, racing colours and equipment to the senior royals. The company eventually moved to Newmarket to cater for the needs of the ever expanding racing industry and changed hands a number of times before being bought by successful racehorse trainer Willie Stephenson in 1960. For the past 46 years, Gibson Saddlers has carried on through Willie’s daughter Liz and, latterly, her husband and son.
