Professional bench-top SMD reflow equipment - UK launch at Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Show 2011 At SME 2011 Eurocircuits, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of prototype and small batch PCBs, launched two bench-top machines delivering high-quality surface-mount reflow-soldering for short runs without the need for a massive investment. The two machines, the eC-stencil-mate solder-paste printer and eC-reflow-mate reflow oven, have been developed exclusively for Eurocircuits by a team of Dutch and German industrial designers. The machines offer the same levels of accuracy, repeatability and reliability as comparable production machines but the Eurocircuits consortium have simplified design, construction and operation. The results are low-cost machines which provide cost-effective and straightforward reflow soldering for prototype and small series PCBs. The eC-stencil-mate printer uses a simple pin-registration system for fast and precise set-up with low-cost frameless stainless-steel stencils. Rigid precision-engineered construction ensures excellent repeatability for small batch printing. After printing the stencil is separated vertically from the board, critical to achieve good paste deposition for fine footprints. The eC-reflow-mate reflow oven gives an even temperature across the board under total user control throughout the soldering process. The eC-reflow-pilot software allows the user to define and store an unlimited number of temperature and time profiles and to monitor the exact process for each board. Separate sensors can be used to measure and display the temperature profile on the actual PCB.
