Encasement products fully comply with new EU Timber Regs

With new EU Timber Regulations (EUTR) due to come into force on 3rd March 2013, banning the use of illegally sourced timber products in the UK, Encasement is already ahead of the legislation, as all of its preformed plywood and timber products are already verifiable as fully compliant. For many years, the company has monitored its supply chain to not only ensure the quality of the raw materials meet the technical specifications, but also come from legal and verifiable sources. As a result of the tracking and traceability procedures, all of Encasement’s timber-based products already comply with the EUTR legislation. Regulation (EU) No 995/2010 of the European Parliament applies to all 27 EU member states and is designed to combat the harvesting and trade in illegal timber, covering a broad range of timber products including solid wood, flooring products, plywood, pulp and paper. The EUTR regulations cover Encasement’s Riva, Riva D, Versa and Versa D pipe boxing as well as its Boiler Pipe Casings and Circa & Quadra column casings, all of which conform to the legislation. For projects requiring FSC® compliant products, the company also offers a range of FSC Chain of Custody certified products. While the introduction of new regulations can sometimes be a challenge for buyers and those in charge of responsible purchasing policies, this potential issue is removed and makes supplier selection much easier, as Encasement products are already fully compliant.
