Institute of Leadership and Management Level 3 Certificate in Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers Certificate in Coaching Course Aims The Institute of Leadership and Management Accredited Level 3 Certificate in Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers . The aim is to develop team leaders and first line managers to provide workplace coaching to members of their teams or others whom they manage. The programme has two primary objectives:- •To provide candidates with an understanding of coaching and its role in improving team members performance •To develop candidates skills to perform effectively as workplace coaches What is Coaching The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines the verb to coach as to ?tutor, train, give hints to, prime with facts.? Coaching is unlocking a person?s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. If you can recognise potential in an individual, nurture that individual in order to realise that potential the results in terms of improved performance will be significant. Coaching for Team Leaders Who Should Attend? •All those with some management responsibility •People new to management •Those being groomed or about to be given management responsibility The Coaching Programme Structure The Coaching programme will consist of a minimum of 24 guided learning hours and 6 hours practical coaching. Module 1 will look at coaching skills and standards for managers and team leaders. It will examine good practice in coaching, learning styles and barriers to effective coaching.
