Leatheroid

Leatheroid paper is also known as Elephantide and can be supplied by Advanced Seals & Gaskets in most formats to our customers bespoke requirements. This material is grey/blue in colour, has excellent insulation properties and is used extensively in the electrical industry to insulate hot elements such as contact terminals. It boast’s many other attributes Leatheroid punched and formed partssuch as: • Excellent electrical strength • Mechanical resistance • Highly durable • Flexible In addition to these key properties we are able to supply this product polyester film bonded which gives a greatly increased bursting strength and also increases its electrical strength to around 12kv per millimetre.
